I'm trying new things lately, one of which is cosplaying. Frankly, I've never really went all out for costumes (even for Halloween), but after getting back into anime this year and seeing tons of Youtube videos of great cosplayers, I thought, "Why not?"

And so, today I decided to get to know my sewing machine a bit better. Now, this sewing machine (Singer 6110) is actually my aunt's and I'm only borrowing for a couple of weeks. I thought that it would be better to get some experience with a sewing machine in general before actually investing in one myself. After all, what if I don't like it and what if it doesn't work out? I'm watching my spending habits.

Anyway, today I decided to learn the basic parts of the sewing machine. From previous videos, I had a vague idea of the basics, but I had to watch more to understand the machine a bit more. Aside from learning some terminology, I also tried to do wind and thread the bobbin.

How did it go?

Two words: not good >_<

For one, I don't have a manual and I couldn't find one (free) online. Second, the machine itself is missing some parts (such as the two spool pins and bobbin winding fence, if that's what it's called?). Also, I can't get the needle to stop moving while I try winding the bobbin and I think you're supposed to...? I'm not entirely sure. I'm obviously a newb to this.

*sighs*

Luckily, I have a couple more weeks back home before winter break is over. I hope to create a basic outfit by New Year's. Don't knew it it will cosplay related, but it's more to help me get used to the machine, the patterns, and whatnot.

And so, the score is Sewing Machine: 1, Me: 0.

Wow, it's been a while. Don't really know what to say.

But hopefully, some actual entries to come soon.

Till then!

If I only were more artsy, I would have something cool to put on this website. But alas, I'm not artistically gifted (or so I think)

*sighs*

I do like to draw, but I also get disappointed with what I see on the paper when I'm done. It's not exactly what I saw in my head. Of course, I could get more practice by drawing more and doodling every now and then, but my perfectionist and self-critical nature prevents me from doing so. Darn it all.

Now that I think about it, the same goes for my music. I can't sing with the deep emotion I feel without it sounding like a dying duck, or play the piano with the melancholic sadness of Chopin. I can't write down on paper my stories without criticizing it for not being exactly as I envisioned it. Why? Because I'm not skilled or "talented enough."

I know what people might say: "Then learn the skills!" I could, but...but...ugh. Taihen desu yo! Chou taihen na no!

But still, I'll ask anyway: any advice for an amateur artist like me?

If I only were more Artsy.

But enough moping around. Time to eat for me! Huzzah!

*rushes off to kitchen, but comes right back*

Oh, and btw, I'm back, and hopefully, for some time.

Ah, it's certainly been a while.

Two years, can you believe it? So much has happened in two years! For one thing, I finished my first year of college. Yea, it wasn't all I hoped it would be, but I can now say that I've experienced the college life. But I'll be transferring next year to a bigger and better school this fall, so I'm hoping a change of scenery will help me tremendously.

But despite my mild college escapades, I still have no luck finding a job!! Not even the local market is willing to hire. Now, I know the economy is partly to blame, but perhaps there's something wrong with me as well. Maybe I'm just unlucky in the summer. That...or maybe I'm already too late to apply for the summer jobs. Darn, I should have started applying in early May! Oh well, I learned, that's the important thing, ne?

Either way, I'll work in college. There should be lots of jobs available to students there, so I'm not losing hope!! Like KAT-TUN said in their smash hit, "KEEP THE FAITH!!" lol (Shame on you, if you don't know KAT-TUN! Tsk Tsk)

Well, that should be all I have to say for now. I hope this time I can actually put a short work here for my friends to see. But then, I'm more of a closet poet...

Either way, we'll see how the summer goes!

Ja ne?

SCHOOL'S OUT!!!

SCHOOL'S FINALLY OUT!!

Finally, sweet freedom! However, I still do not believe it is really summer; it just doesn't feel like it. Perhaps it has something to do with the constant pressure of exams we had this past week...

In any case, the most important thing is that school is finally out!

Wow, next year, I'll be a senior. SWEET!^^
